He is Able so Hope

|

Good morning! My heart is so full this morning of the glory of God in the midst of the evil of this world. I just heard about a friend whose children are expecting conjoined twins. The outlook is not good, and yet, their faith is strong and they remain in God’s word and in praise. I know that this young couple will be okay no matter the outcome, because they have entrusted their lives into the Hands of God.

“I know whom I have believed,
And am persuaded that He is able to keep that which
I have committed unto Him against that day.”
2 Timothy 1:12 KJV

“…For I know whom I have believed,
and I am convinced that He is able to guard what
I have entrusted to Him until that day.”
2 Timothy 1:12 NASB

Here is HOPE. Hope is found in trust. I have given God my heart, my life, my family, my past, my future, all authority. These things I have entrusted to Him believing that He is able to keep them until the day I enter heaven. I am not going to take them back when hard times come. God is able to protect and provide and comfort and love and bring joy in the midst of the hurts of this world. This doesn’t mean that I won’t face heartbreak, hurts, devastation or discomfort. It does mean that when I do, I will cling to the knowledge that the God who sits as King over the entire universe will hold my heart and life in His hands and will walk with me through and comfort me in everything that is thrown at me.

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,
so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;
we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed;
perplexed, but not despairing;
persecuted, but not forsaken;
struck down, but not destroyed;
Always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”
2 Corinthians 4:5-10

God, I again, this day, commit my life and all that I to You. You are faithful and true and I place my trust in no one or no other thing. I will hope in You.
