“So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved,
put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience;
bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone;
just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.”
Colossians 3:12-13

“…just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him.”
Ephesians 1:4

“…so that we might receive the adoption as sons.” Galatians 4:5

God not only bought our redemption at the cross, He adopted us as beloved sons and daughters of the Glorious Creator King!!! He chose you. He pursued you. He wanted you. He loves you. So much that He gave His life for you. If no other had followed or believed in Christ Jesus, God still would have come and died just for you. He chose you not on your own merits, your performance, your beauty, your monetary value, etc…. He chose you because He made you, and He delights in you, and He loves you!!!

We didn’t earn it or deserve it. We are no better than others, just forgiven. We were made righteous through the blood of Jesus, not of ourselves. God chose you. Think about that. Pretty daunting! Pretty amazing! Pretty, Wow!!!

What does God ask in return? That we love Him back. That we accept Him as our Father. That we begin to emulate Him. That we remain thankful. That we put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, and forgiveness. After all, we didn’t earn or deserve forgiveness. Who, then, are we to withhold it from others? The best part is that He gives us the ability to live the victorious Christian life through the giving of His very own Spirit within us! The Spirit reminds us of our adoption. Someday we will stand before God and say, “Abba, Father.” But even now we can climb up into His lap, feel His arms around us, know His comfort and His guidance as a Father who has compassion on His children. He chose you!!!
