Noble Thoughts
“But the noble man devises noble plans;
And by noble plans he stands.”
Isaiah 32:8
Noble: 1. of an exalted moral or mental character or excellence: a noble thought.
2. admirable in dignity of conception, manner of expression, execution, or composition
3. of an admirably high quality; notably superior; excellent.
Are you noble? Are your plans noble? Every minute of every day is filled with thoughts, plans, and actions. Noble thoughts, plans, and actions come from a noble heart. The most noble is the heart that belongs to God. Wisdom says in Proverbs 8:6, “Listen, for I will speak noble things; And the opening of my lips will reveal right things.” From wisdom flows noble thoughts. “From out of the heart, the mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45) Jesus is the personification of wisdom; therefore, thoughts that line up with His word and His ways are noble. 1 Corinthians 1 and 2 tell us that the wisdom of this age is not the wisdom of God. Noble thoughts are wisdom from God which , “…is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.” Noble thoughts are then, pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.
How is your thought life? Check your speech and your actions and they will reveal your heart. Take control of your thought life. Don’t let thoughts just come in and claim themselves as your own. “Take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.” Disregard those that are harmful, false, against the Word of God and claim the Truth. “Set your mind on things above, not on things of this earth.” (Colossians 3:2) and think noble thoughts.
