“Those who trust in the Lord
Are as Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever.”
Psalm 125:1
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge…”
Psalm 18:2
One of the books that we are selling at our booth is called “The Writing of God”. It is a Biblical archeology book. In this book is a picture of a rock that they believe is the rock that Moses struck and water came out. It is a monolith. It is amazing! A rock in the middle of the desert that juts straight up from the ground. It is split with a chasm right down the middle. And from that rock is water erosion down into a basin that indicates a lake. It is in the middle of a desert!
The Son is our rock. He cannot be moved. He gives life giving water in the form of the HS and He gives us hope for the future. As the Israelites were wandering in the desert, they complained because of their thirst. God provided for them from this rock. This water allowed the Israelites to be able to continue to journey on to Mt. Sinai. God will respond to you also in your time of need. He gives hope.
The neat thing about God being our rock is that He is a great big monolith that cannot be moved. His word is true forever. He never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. And He cares for you, delights in you, and loves you because you are His. If you look up and can’t find God, it is not God that has moved. Line yourself up under the immovable rock and find peace and joy and hope.
