I Can because He Is
I Can because He is
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.Philippians 4:13
I was facing another back surgery. I thought it would be minor, but it turned out to be major with a six- month recovery. This was spinal surgery number six, and I didn’t want to! God provided and my husband and boys stepped in in miraculous ways and helped out. The six-month recovery has just one more month, and with God’s strength, I can!
Whatever your “I don’t want to” is, give it to God. He is able.
Charles Spurgeon wrote:
God is able to do all things. Believer, until you can drain dry the ocean of omnipotence, until you can break into pieces the towering mountains of almighty strength, you never need to fear. Think not that the strength of man shall ever be able to overcome the power of God. The same God who directs the earth in its orbit, wo feeds the burning furnace of the sun and trims the lamps of heaven, has promised to supply you with daily strength. While He is able to uphold the universe, think not that He will prove unable to fulfill His own promises.
Remember what He did in the days of old. Remember how He spoke and it was done; how He commanded, and it stood fast. Shall He who created the world grow weary? He hangs the world upon nothing; shall He who does this be unable to support His children? Shall He be unfaithful to His Word? How can He fail us? When He put such a faithful promise as this on record (Phil. 4:13), will you think for a moment that He has out promised Himself and gone beyond His power to fulfill? No! doubt no longer.
You who are my God and my strength, I can believe that this promise shall be fulfilled. The boundless reservoir of Your grace can never be exhausted, and the overflowing storehouse of Your strength can never be emptied.
My friend, our God is able. Whatever you circumstance you are in take the step of faith of living each moment one at a time, and choose to trust that God will prevail in the end.
