What Really Happened at the Cross? Completion

|

“”For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,
And in Him, you have been made complete,
And He is the head over all rule and authority.”
Colossians 2:9-10

“…and let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:4

When we come to the cross and allow the flesh to be crucified, Jesus raises us up to new life as a new creation complete in Him. A baby is born complete, yet still needs to mature. As a baby Christian, we too, are complete but require the perfecting and maturing process of hardships. As we endure these, we grow in wisdom, dependence on God, humility, and faith. At the cross we are made complete. We have all that we need to succeed victoriously in this life – we have the mind of Christ! ((1 Corinthians 2:16). As we walk in the light, learn through the Holy Spirit of the word of God, and as we fellowship with God through prayer, He will develop withn us all that we need. He will equip us for every good work.

My husband completes me. We are very different, but very complementary. Where I lack, he is strong. I am rigid, he is spontaneous. I am moody, he is steady. And where he lacks, I fill in. God completes me in that in my weakness He is strong. Where I lack, He is enough. When I despair, He encourages me. When I don’t have enough trust, He teaches me. My responsibility? To know that through Christ I can do all things, and then I rely on Him to accomplish that which He has purposed in me.
