Trust in the One Who Can and Is
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
Do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
This is my life verse. I know it, and practice it. But if I could really get it down and use it every minute of my life, then victory would be mine indeed! What is trust? How do we grow in it? Trust is not blind faith. No, rather it is faith in the One who created us, gave order to this world, who formed me in my mother’s womb, the One who loved me so much that He gave His only Son for me. This is truly One in Whom I can trust! He is trustworthy. He made this world; He will end this world. He has a plan and see the whole picture. I do not. Not in my own life, in the lives of others, or with the nation and world. I have to trust that Someone bigger than me has it all figured out.
When you were little, you trusted that your mom would feed you each day. You trusted because she had a good track record of doing so. She had, so she would. God has, and He will also! Circumstances sometimes seem very bleak, and we don’t understand. We have to trust that God knows the bigger plan and holds us in His hands. Go to Him for the answers, and if you don’t find the answers there, then find comfort and strength and love. The answers may not be ours until eternity. But trust.
Our own understanding is so limited. Truly acknowledge God in all that you do, all that you accomplish, in all of your circumstances – good and bad, and He will make sense of your world and set you on the straight and narrow path to eternal life in heaven. I wish I had all the answers. I don’t. But I trust in the One that does!
