It’s Coming! Old Age

| | |

I’m dying my hair this morning. The gray is overtaking the brown quicker and quicker. I’m plucking gray hairs from my eyebrows. I’m getting old. When did this happen! Like many things, age sneaks up on us one day at a time. Big events mark our years – birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc…. But it’s the everyday little things that shape who we are. It’s the day to day choices that march us to self-acceptance and love or takes us down a road of self-hatred and destruction. Each decision leads to another. A bad decision usually leads to other bad decisions, and a good decision usually leads to other good decisions. We can’t wait until another day or after such and such event. As time marches on, so does your life and each second, each choice is defining who you are.

“Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day (2 Cor. 4:16). This is true, only as you live each day, each moment walking with God, making each decision based upon His word. Praise God for His infinite grace! I know that when I do make a wrong decision, it doesn’t have to lead to another wrong decision. I can make a good decision by quickly repenting and asking God to forgive me. Your character, the essence on who you are, is being shaped even now as you decide what you will take away from this blog. Will you become a person of integrity and grace? Or will you choose your own way? God is waiting now, this minute, to do good and mighty things within you.

May your choices this day lead to life and joy.

Happy birthday to my Aaron! I can’t believe you are already 28 years old! Live each day for Jesus. Lead your family well into the Kingdom. Know that you are loved and lovable. You’ve got this!
