Hope in My Heart

“O love the Lord, all you His godly ones!
The Lord preserves the faithful
And fully recompenses the proud doer.
Be strong and let your heart take courage,
All you who hope in the Lord.”
Psalm 31:23-24

Peter walked on water! Do you get how miraculous that was? It defied science. It was unattainable. It was impossible! But Peter did it! Until…he took his eyes off of Jesus. Jesus, of course, didn’t let Peter drown, but was there to get him back into the boat.

Lord, I need to walk on water today. I need to believe the impossible. I need to see you accomplish the unattainable. I will trust in you. I will hope in you. You promise to preserve the faithful. Lord, help me be faithful today.

Our choir is singing a song that has these words, “At the end of the day, oh let people say that my heart looks like your heart.” That’s my prayer today, Lord. Let my heart look like your heart. And if the waves get higher, and the storm gets fiercer, let me keep my eyes on you. Help me not to be anxious, Dear Jesus, but to look to you for my strength. May I do all to Your glory and continue to hope in You.
