Free from Shame

|

“Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart,
But we have renounced the things hidden because of shame,
not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God,
but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.”
2 Corinthians 4:1-2

How are you doing? Shame is connected here to hidden things and things done in craftiness or done by adulterating the word of God. If you have put away these things: 1.) things that you did before becoming a Christian “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17) 2.) things that you have done in the flesh since becoming a Christian “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) then there is no need to walk in shame. At the cross all things that were hidden come into the light. That is why confession is so important. When things come out of darkness and into the light, they lose their power over us. Christians have no business wallowing in shame. It is a lie from Satan. Walk in liberty today because of God’s mercy and grace.
