Nothing New Under the Sun
“Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths,
Where the good way is, and walk in it;
And you will find rest for your souls.”
Jeremiah 6:16
Ecclesiastes 1:9 says, “That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun.” We have all heard that history repeats itself. This generation and the last and the next all think that they have had new thoughts, new strategies, better ways, but Solomon tells us that there is nothing new under the sun. Why? Because Satan is the one who has been and is behind all things anti-Christ. He still desires to wipe out the Jewish people. He still desires to make Christians ineffective. He still poses as the “angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:14). It is he who is the god of every false religion; the god of the earth; the prince of the poser of the air; the great deceiver. As long as we are in this world, he will stand against anyone who believes on the name of Jesus Christ.
Want to find rest and peace? God to the Ancient of Days. He is the maker of all things. He is on His throne, and those who call upon Him will be saved!
