Wisdom Waits
“How blessed is the man who finds wisdom
And the man who gains understanding.
For her profit is better than the profit of silver
And her gain better than fine gold.
She is more precious than jewels;
And nothing you desire compares with her.”
Proverbs 3:13-15
Wisdom is personified in Jesus Christ. Wisdom is the character and essence of God. And He has made it available to us! How incredible is that! To gain wisdom, we must let go of foolishness – foolishness of thinking that we can gain the whole world on our own, in our own ways. That is where the cross comes in. We must give up our self to gain wisdom. We must relinquish all our plans and desires and allow God to put His desires within our hearts. It sounds scary, but it is not when you know the good God that we serve. That is why you must be in the word and praying – to know God. He is not the image of your earthly parents. He is not a killjoy or authority with hundreds of rules. He is loving, compassionate, kind, and giving. To know Him is joy and peace and hope.
May you reach out to know God a little bit better each day. He is waiting!
