What Really Happened at the Cross? Seated with Christ

“…made us alive together with Christ
(by grace you have been saved),
and raised us up with Him,
and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:5-6

Bottom line. If you have bowed before Jesus at the cross and asked Him to come into your heart and to give you new birth, then you have also been raised up and seated with Christ. In other words, your birth position in the family of God has been determined! You are His Prince or Princess, and He has a place waiting for you when you get to heaven. The position is yours. The chair has your name on it. It won’t be given away or taken away!!!

The essence of most addiction and rebellion is a wrong view of our own worth and God’s character. This settles it. God loves you. You have great worth, not based on what you do, how you look, or what other people say, but because you are God’s child. Period. God’s character is truth, love, compassion, peace, kindness, etc… That’s why it is so important to know the God of the Bible. Read it and seek the One True God. He is not like your earthly father. He is not like what many believe the Bible says on hearsay. Psalms will give you a great overview of God’s character. Isaiah has a lot to say about it as does the whole Bible. God of the Old Testament was not a God of anger and judgment, but a God of patience, longsuffering, second chances, and great love. Jesus showed us the character of God as well. Study and learn then you will be able to trust and obey.

Your position is final. Your seat is ready. Now your job is to prepare yourself for the awesome responsibility of occupying a place of position in eternity! Draw near to God, let Him renew your mind and prepare you for your tasks ahead. Trust God. He is waiting for you.
