Faith/Trust/Fear

Just a quick thought or two: It takes more faith to live through a hard circumstance than it does to expect God to take you out of it. Courage is doing what needs to be done in spite of fear, not in the absence of fear. Trust in God does not negate fear, it is the power to move through in spite of fear.

First Seek His Kingdom

“But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you. do no be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:31-32 IMG_7948 (1) What are you seeking? Wealth, popularity, companionship, joy? God’s Word says that if we seek Him first, these other things will be ours. I am not preaching a gospel of name it and claim it or of wealth and prosperity. I am preaching God’s Word which says that He will meet our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.(Phil. 4:19). This may not mean... Read More

Harry Potter and the Bible

“When you enter the land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the detestable things of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord; and because of these detestable things the Lord you God will drive... Read More

I Can because He Is

I Can because He is I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.Philippians 4:13 I was facing another back surgery.  I thought it would be minor, but it turned out to be major with a six- month recovery.  This was spinal surgery number six, and I didn’t want to!  God provided and my husband and boys stepped in in miraculous ways and helped out.  The six-month recovery has just one more month, and with God’s strength, I can! Whatever your “I don’t want to” is, give it to God.  He is able. Charles Spurgeon wrote: God is able... Read More

Perfection

“He no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh… but to the will of God” 1 Peter 4:2 Perfection is founded entirely on the love of God, and the perfect love of God means the complete union of our will with God’s: It follows them, that the more one unites his will be his love of God. The greatest glory we can give to God is to do His will in everything. Our Redeemer came on earth to glorify His heavenly Father and to teach us by His example and how we can do the same.... Great Books

I know that I have been silent for a while. God seems to be calling me to a time of silence with the world, that I might speak more to HIm. As my body heals, my mind has been free to think and pray and rejoice and ponder. I have been reading some great books (see below) and have had some great conversations with my son, Garrett whom God has in the same place. I am looking forward to hitting the road and speaking and showing at the upcoming homeschool conferences. , but I have also enjoyed this time of... Read More

Truth is…

”…I was very glad to find some of your children walking in truth…” 2 John !:4 What is this truth? “…for the sake of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever.” (2 John 1:2) “Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6) So first we see that truth is the person of Jesus. Jesus is God and all that God is, so truth is the very character of God. Truth also contains the eternal facts of the Scriptures. The gospel, the promises, the prophecies, etc…. But truth is more than even this.... Read More

I Need You!

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:23-25 We need each other! We need other Christians. We need to be with others that can encourage us through song and biblical teaching. We need to be fed constant truth, or the world will overtake us. When I was studying...
